General Info
President Grants Ancestral Homestead was the home to the grandparents of president Ulysses Simpson Grant-General & 18th President of the United States of America (1869-1877).

The Grant Homestead exhibits the stories of President Grant, the American Civil war, farming life in the 19th Century and also the story of the people from Ireland travelling to America to seek their fortunes.

The homestead also boasts a beautiful wildlife Garden where ranges of habitats are being created to encourage pond and bog life, birds, bumblebee, butterflies and minibeasts. The picnic and barbecue areas are the perfect setting for a lunchtime snack and the children can safely play in the children's play area. For the more energetic, the homestead is ideal base to explore the breathtaking surrounding country side. Take a stroll or hire a bike and helmet from the homestead.
