Altmore Open Farm & Caravan Park

Come and visit the donkeys, geese, ducks, chickens, ponies, rabbits and more! Angling lessons with equipment are also available if required. There is also a play area with swings, slides, water features all situated in a safe friendly environment. Furthermore there is also a Trout fishery, please see below for more details. The farm is surrounded by 175 Acres of hillside, moorland and forest. There are rambling paths from half mile to five miles, providing plenty of scope for pony-trekking, mountain biking or a gentle stroll.

Altmore offers first class Rainbow trout fishing in a pleasant peaceful and friendly environment. Fly fish the main 5 acre lake or picnic with the family at the hill lochan while the youngsters drown a few worms or try spinning. Both waters are regularly stocked with hard fighting full finned Rainbow trout of 2lbs,. average weight.

There are concessionary fees for angling groups or clubs with limited self-catering on offer subject to availability.

Stay in a traditionally styled thatched cottage, furnished as for the period (front piece) which may be used for accommodation or as a centre for traditional music and socialising.

We also provide self catering in a Log Cabin, Chalet or in one of the numerous Mobile Homes, all of which are fully serviced. There are also sites for camping, towing caravans and caravanettes - site charge only no extra charge for services.

Hot and cold snacks are served throughout the day. By arrangement we can provide cold buffets and barbecues for family and group functions.

For families, organised groups or angling parties, arrangements can be made for advantageous rates for accommodation for anglers and non anglers alike dependant upon the requirement, availability and time of year.

For example a party of four or more anglers, fishing for 2 or more days (each taking a daily £15 five fish ticket) will have complimentary accommodation in a fully serviced, self catering mobile (bedding excluded) for the period of their stay.
