How will my company benefit?
- Enhanced company image as a good corporate citizen
- Increased publicity for community activities
- Cost effective staff development opportunities that help individuals develop a broad range of skills and increase in confidence
- Team-building opportunities for staff groups
- Improved staff morale and pride in the company - leading to better staff retention
- Building links and networking opportunities
- Supporting charities linked to business objectives, such as health or the environment
|
What ways can my company volunteer?
- Give individual staff members time off to volunteer to a local community group
- **Give staff time off to take part in one-off Community Projects (A great way of team building!)
- Let staff have access to equipment and premises to carry out voluntary activities e.g. designing an annual report for a local charity.
- Encourage staff to give their own time to Volunteering
- Advertise local volunteer opportunities on internal email or on notice-boards
- Invite a speaker from the local Volunteer Centre to talk to staff
**Local Community Projects can be an excellent method of team building. For example painting the walls in the day room of a local hospital or cleaning rubbish from a nearby river. Your staff will have a great team-building experience with a real sense of achievement, while the charity gets a job done for free!
